Travelling is a major part of my life. Over the years I have travelled a lot. I love visiting new places whether in India or aboard. Today the world has become a global place, where to survive it has become very necessary to travel. Though I travel a lot for professional reasons, it is the leisure trips which I look forward to the most.

This year, during the summer I had planned to visit the US with my friends. Though I have travelled a lot, I never had the chance to visit the US. Since one of my friends had been to US earlier he suggested that we first San Francisco first.

Since it was a long trip we had to plan well in advance. After much discuss and rearranging our schedules, we settled on one date. Once the date was finalized we booked the tickets. Since it was long flight, we didn’t want to take flight with stops and unnecessary increase the travel time. Air India is one of few airlines which offer direct New Delhi to San Francisco Flights, thus choosing air India was a sensible option.

Once the tickets were booked, then next thing we did was book the hotel, since my friend had already visited San Francisco, he handled the hotel booking.

Finally after weeks of planning, the day of our flight arrived. One thing I was really worried about was the punctuality of the flight. Since it was already a long flight I didn’t want any unnecessary delays. But luckily the flight was on time and reached San Francisco without any delays.

Travelling via a direct Air India flight turned out to be a good decision. The meals and snacks provided on board were really fresh and delicious. Also the entertainment facilities offered by the kept me occupied for the entire flight.

Once we reached San Francisco airport, we took a cab and headed for the hotel. The journey from the airport to our hotel was short but looking at sights from my window I was mesmerized with the beauty and the architecture of the city.

Since we were travelling for leisure, we wanted our hotel to be easily accessible to the tourist and shopping areas of the city. The Orchard Hotel located on the bush street was the ideal option. The hotel is located in the main city centre and minutes away from major tourist centre such as Union Square and Powell Street cable car line.

Experiencing The Delicious Local Food

After a long flight, we headed to our rooms to get refreshed and take a small nap. With the different times zones it took us a little while to get over the jet lag. Since we were all tired and didn’t want to go far, we decided to have dinner and a nearby restaurant.

While roaming around union square, we came across this place called Luques Restaurant & Bar. This restaurant was quite full and there were delicious aromas coming from it. So we decided to check it out. We had really good time at the restaurant. The restaurant serves amazing authentic California food.
