The interior chambers are decorated with precious and semi-precious gem stones. It is open from sunrise to sunset on all days and it is closed on Fridays. It is surrounded by well-kept gardens and it has a marble tank in the front.
Fatehpur Sikri
Akbar envisioned this city and it is his contribution. The city has well laid out roads, gardens, fountains, mosques and utility structures.
Agra Fort
It is also known as Red Fort as red sand stone is used to build this fort. The palaces inside the fort are Jahangir Palace and Khas Palace. It is a fine example of Mughal architecture. There are two mosques in the fort and they are Moti Masjid and Nagina Masjid, they both are popular for their structural beauty.

Jama Masjid
It was built by Emperor Shah Jahan and the building took six years to build. The cost of the construction was over a million rupees and the mosque can hold more than 25,000 people at any given time.
Akbar’s Tomb
Located in Sikandra it is spread out in 120 acres of land and the building was started by Akbar himself and later it was completed by his son Jehangir. The tomb is surrounded by high walls, it is a four tiered structure and it is pyramidical in shape. You have to enter the structure through the south gate and it is flanked by four minarets. The red sand stone gives a unique texture to this structure.
Agra Cantt: Gateway To The City Of Agra!
It is the main railway station in the city of Agra. Agra Cantt was opened in 1904 and electrified in the year 1982-85. Located near the Sadar Bazaar the station is crowded with tourists on a daily basis. The station code is AGC and it is operated by North Central railway.
